#WrAP2020 Coming Soon!

Kick start your year. Write a play in January.

Ok, so it may be only October, but with the nights getting longer and the air getting colder, we thought it was high time we announced #WrAP2020. If you thought January was all about broken resolutions and doom and gloom – think again! Here at London Playwrights we use the first month of the year to kick-start our writing and give ourselves a creative boost. Sharpen your pencils, #WrAP is back.

What is #WrAP?

#WrAP (Write a Play)  is our annual January playwriting challenge and it’s back for the third year running. Throughout the month, we provide prompts, exercises, mini online workshops, and inspiration to support you in writing a whole draft of a play in just a month. All of this is sent directly to your inbox to challenge you and spur you on.

Since it began in 2018, over 300 of you have taken part in #WrAP – completing first drafts, a few scenes, or simply coming up with ideas that you’ve been able to work on throughout the year. Some of these ideas have already been developed into bigger things.

The feedback we’ve had has been overwhelming, with writers telling us that whether they finished their scripts or not, #WrAP gave their writing the boost they needed for the year ahead.

Join us for #WrAP2020

We’re currently beavering away to make #WrAP2020 bigger and better than ever, and we’ll be making more announcements about this over the coming weeks (so do keep your eye on our blog and follow us on Instagram @londonplaywrights & Twitter @LDNPlaywrights).

If you want to challenge yourself, get some inspiration and write with the support of a playwriting community, then join us for #WrAP2020.

It doesn’t matter if it’s your first play or your fiftieth, or if you have minimal spare time: all that matters is that you want to give it a go. After all, even if you only get a few scenes written, or a rough first draft, it’s still more than you had at the start of January. And it’s got to be better than signing up for an expensive gym membership, right?

How to sign up:

Click here to join the #WrAP2020 mailing list and receive all materials directly to your inbox. You’ll then receive a confirmation email, which you’ll need to click on – don’t forget to check your spam folder if this doesn’t come through!

      Hi,

Welcome to WrAP! We’re just in the process of uploading links to all the emails on to this page, but just in case you can’t see them yet, I will email them to you now.

      Best of luck with it!
